The showcase was a 3-day event that happened in Accra, Ghana between 22nd to 24th November of this year at the Octagon. From the organizers, the idea was to capture the synergies, innovation and progress being made in the building and arts industry among architecture firms, schools, architects, interior designers, decorators, construction firms and thought leaders.

There was series of seminars/workshops which touched on the details and steps involved in interior design. It was highlighted on the difference between interior design and interior decoration. Other discussions were made on what a good design is supposed to be and how to achieve one.

The exhibition occurred in two parts; one within a double volume showroom and the other an open air type in a first floor courtyard.

Indoor Exhibition

Inside the showroom; Exhibitors included Cool West Africa, Alkira Home Goods, Kuta Industrial Products, Tekura, Latex Foam, Zoe Creative Services, Alkira Home Goods etc. On display as part of the exhibition were artworks from Abeku Dadson, furniture pieces from Tekura and Stripes; and bedroom and furniture sets from Alkira Home Goods, Design Lounge, Zoe Creative Services.

Cool West Africa

Cool West Africa, a real home company deals in a wide range of kitchen appliances and interior fittings for kitchens. They design and fabricate kitchens and wardrobe fittings based on clients specifications; and deals in high-end appliances including induction stoves, cooker tops and extractor fans. They hold brands such as Teka, Kuppersbusch, York, Valadares, Oli and Alvic.

Outdoor Exhibition

In the courtyard, exhibition showcased works from various companies including architecture firms, furniture companies etc.


ArchXenus is an architecture firm based in Accra. They exhibited works including a design virtual reality stand.

S Tetteh & Associates

S Tetteh and Associates is another architecture firm that exhibited with their 5,000 USD award winning affordable home and other projects.


EcoRewards is a distributor of eco-friendly water bottles.

Daar Living

Daar Living is an interior design company


Holocombe is a carpeting and flooring company


Stripes is a bespoke shipping wood, product design and furniture company that up-cycles shipping pallets into furniture.

Getting to the evening, the tempo of the music increased as more visitors came through. The evening’s lighting display illuminated the various facades of the Octagon. Let us hope this festival becomes a tradition and that more institutions and professionals in the design disciplines will be involved.
